Merchants Need Tools

Shopper Platform has new tools to support merchants in their migration to faster digital commerce. New tools include inventory management features such as AI assisted bulk scanning, file uploads and spreadsheet uploads. New tools also include a QR code generator.

Merchant App provides an interface to add individual SKU items. Adding single items is definitely a demanding process. But, it ensures a high quality of product listings. High quality leads to frequent customer visits. Moreover, adding all details one by one is a one-time process for each product. The descriptions, categories and brand identities of SKUs rarely change. Once the information has been saved, the same product template can be used again and again for future changes in packaging size and pricing. Merchant App already offers features to pull this template info from the product name.

However, merchants shared feedback that it is time taking and tedious to add inventory to the App. They wanted something like the bulk upload options that e-commerce platforms provide for registered sellers. So, they now have not one but three features for faster SKU listings:

1. Lens Scan - Merchants can now use the power of AI to add inventory. On the App, store managers can point the camera to a list of inventory items - be it on a computer monitor screen or a paper with a printed list of items or a hand written list. The App scans the items and adds it to the New Products List. This will reduce the listing time by more than a half as there's no longer a need to enter the categories, descriptions, etc. manually. All that is needed is pricing and stock info for most items.
2. CSV - For stores that have countless spreadsheets of product info, Merchant App offers support for importing csv (comma separated values) files directly into the app. The list pre-populates all the fields supplied by the merchant in the required format. All that's needed then is a review of the SKUs.
3. Excel - The third feature enables almost instant product listings. All that is needed is an Excel spreadsheet in the standard format. Store managers can simply download the template, fill it with the latest info and upload. It automatically updates items already in the listings. It creates new listings if the items do not already exist. This is the fastest upload feature for merchants who possess excellent Excel knowledge.

QR codes have become omnipresent in markets and on digital platforms. All that an interested party needs to do is scan a QR to start the shopping journey. So, the Merchant App now provides Personalized Store QRs:

• Scanning the QR leads to the Store's products on the Baazaar App - if it's already installed on customer's phone.
• If the customer does not have the app, the QR code leads to an online storefront where she/he can view the store's info; browse the store's listings; share their requirements with the store directly and more.

This is not just a QR. It's a complete online and mobile store with the ease of accessing via just a QR scan shared on WhatsApp or Instagram.
